MAPLE ISLAND FILMS INC. ("we," "us," or "our") owns the film ON THE LINE and operates ontheline.movie. This policy explains how we handle information when you visit, share a story, request a screening, sign up for updates, or contact us.

Information we collect and use

We collect the stories and messages you send; your email address; any name, city, age category, and gender you provide; your publication preference; and screening-request details. We use this information to review submissions, communicate with you, manage permissions, assess screening interest, and provide updates you request. Sharing a story does not subscribe you to marketing emails.

Hosting services process technical information, such as IP addresses, browser details, and request times, to deliver and secure the website.

Stories and publication choices

Approved stories may appear on this website, in official ON THE LINE social media, and in film publicity under our Terms of Use. Contributors retain ownership and approve wording changes and excerpts.

Named publication includes your first name and city. Anonymous publication omits both. Your email address, demographic answers, and private permission-verification details are not published. An anonymous story may still identify people through its details, and it is not necessarily anonymous to our team. Share only what you are comfortable making public and avoid disclosing other people’s private information without permission.

Who receives information

We use Netlify to host the website and store form submissions. Our authorized production team reviews submissions in Netlify’s private dashboard. We may use email and internal records to communicate with contributors and manage publication permissions. Automatic submission email notifications are not enabled. Access is limited to people and service providers who need the information for these purposes.

We do not sell submitted stories or contact information or provide them to advertisers for audience targeting. We may disclose information when legally required, to protect safety or security, or as part of a transfer of the website or relevant business assets, subject to applicable protections.

Cookies and outside services

Our service providers may use cookies and similar technologies to operate and secure the website. Browser settings can block or delete cookies.

Playing the trailer connects to YouTube, which may collect your IP address, viewing activity, and other information, use cookies, and associate activity across websites or with your Google account. See Google’s Privacy Policy. External ticketing, social media, and support websites have their own privacy practices.

Your choices and retention

Contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or removal of your published story. We may verify that the request is yours. You can withdraw permission for future story use; after verification, we stop new promotional use and remove the story from online channels we control within a reasonable time. We cannot retrieve previously distributed materials or guarantee removal of copies held by others. Marketing emails provide a way to unsubscribe.

We retain information only as long as reasonably needed to handle submissions and requests, publish authorized stories, maintain permission records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. We then delete or de-identify it; limited permission, legal, and security records may remain where needed.

Age eligibility, security, and location

Our story, screening-request, and email-signup forms are for people aged 18 or older. People under 18 may not use these forms. If we learn that we collected personal information through these forms from someone under 18, we take steps to delete it.

We use reasonable safeguards, but no website or transmission is completely secure. We operate in the United States; service providers may process information in other countries.

Changes to this policy

We post revisions here with an updated effective date and provide a prominent notice of material changes, notifying affected contributors where appropriate. We obtain additional permission when required before materially changing how we use information or stories. Nothing here limits your rights under applicable law.
